Sferical AI opens Sferical One, a supercomputer for major Swedish companies
Sferical AI, formed with several large Swedish companies, has inaugurated Sferical One, an AI supercomputer built on 16 Nvidia DGX GB300 systems. It has been running since late summer.
Wallenberg Investments, Astra Zeneca, Ericsson, Saab and SEB agreed last year to join forces on Sferical AI. The new company is to build and run AI infrastructure for Swedish businesses. It has now inaugurated its supercomputer, Sferical One.
The machine consists of 16 Nvidia DGX GB300 systems and started up at the end of the summer. So far it has been tested in drug research at Astra Zeneca, telecom models at Ericsson, defence applications at Saab, finance at SEB and industry at SKF.
Sferical AI CEO Jenny Nordlöw says companies can train and run AI models at larger scale on a sovereign platform. She stresses that several of the country's biggest companies share the same infrastructure and knowledge.
Sferical AI will also offer services based on Nemotron, Nvidia's multimodal models that can be tailored. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang says the computer will strengthen the Swedish AI ecosystem.
